Snow Bunny: Sero app should allow use of all Sero features
Hi, guys, I know it has been stated before that Sero voice E-mails do not need to be available for iPhone or other mobile tablet or device use, not even the HIMS devices, since the Apple E-mail client and others are accessible. I am grateful that they are accessible but the above idea re voice Sero E-mail availability on other devices is unfounded. Think about Dolphin Guide, which is a blind-friendly way to do all kinds of things, including word processing and specialized E-mail. The more choices we blind people have, the better, so I urge Pneuma Solutions to have the Sero app do the same things as the PC Sero client. Some blind people just have an iPhone or other mobile device, what then? Thanks for developing this. Beth

I don't disagree with this. Particularly as you can access that email client already from an iPhone, by just visiting the web portal at secure.samobile.net . Why leave out features? I'm a happy Sero subscriber even though all I use on a regular basis is a Mac and iPhone. Both of which I consider to be excellent platforms for Pneuma Solution's service-based products.
But, yes, right now it's clear Windows takes the lead, for some reason. Even now, the media player on iOS and MacOS is broken such that you cannot even skip backward or forward by small increments. Perhaps one day Pneuma will wake up from their slumber and just turn the whole thing into a webapp? The technology is certainly there.

Hi Beth:
Thank you for your thoughtful message and your continued support of Sero. Since its launch in 2001, Sero has been a cornerstone for many in our community, and we’re proud of the role it continues to play in the lives of our users.
Remember that Sero email can be added to mobile devices using the standard IMAP configuration. For anyone interested in doing so, it’s as simple as entering your Sero email credentials into your mobile device’s email settings—just like setting up any other email account. If you or others need assistance with this process, we’re happy to help.
Regarding your suggestion to expand voice email functionality to the mobile Sero app, we understand the appeal and agree that more options are always beneficial. However, with Sero in maintenance mode, our focus remains on ensuring that its current features remain accessible and reliable. While it’s unlikely we’ll be introducing major updates to Sero, we continue to monitor how our community uses the platform to make sure its most essential features work as expected.
Your feedback reminds us how vital Sero has been—and continues to be—to our users, and we don’t take that for granted. Please keep sharing your ideas with us, as they are invaluable in shaping how we move forward.
Thanks again, Beth, for reaching out and for being part of this incredible community.

speaking of sero and things like t, how's it coming with that nvda add-on that allows us to use our voices with that screen reader? Is that still going to happen?

Thanks, Mike, for your reply to my post. You said, in part:

Me again: However, it is my understanding that voice E-mails still cannot be done on the mobile side but voice forum messages can. Hmmmmmmm, how about getting voice E-mails going on the mobile side? Thanks. Beth

Beth: Unless I am misremembering, Dolphin Guide only works on PCs. Sero does Email on Windows as does Dolphin Guide.

Sorry I wasn't as clear as I should have been: Yes, Dolphin Guide just runs on Windows. I brought it up to indicate that Guide has its own E-mail client and other specialized clients. Having specialized clients of any sort for the blind is not reinventing the wheel, it's making the wheel so much easier to turn. Think about notetakers, one example being the BrailleSense 6, which has its own clients, including a specialized YouTube one. Beth

Richard Wells: Re: Sero app should allow use of all Sero features
Beth: You are making my point. As a user of the product, I can tell you from experience that Main-stream Android Apps work better on BrailleSense 6 than the special ones created by Hims. This goes for YouTube, Email, Web Browsers, etc. While Sero Email and Dolphin Guide Email have great features that make them convenient for their users, even Windows Email clients such as Thunderbird have many features that neither of those Email clients have. Let's think outside of the box for a minute. Wouldn't it be neat if someone created a voice messaging cross-platform App where you could just send messages to others using that App that could also be accessed by anyone using any other Email client such as Microsoft Outlook or Thunberbird? That was a nice dream and then I woke up.

While I haven't noticed a trend toward email client adding voice messaging to their feature list, voice messaging is well-supported bytext messaging clients and apps like WhatsApp and Signal. Perhaps this may be an alternative to consider for this form of communications.
