Donna M: O Henry Bars
This is a very simple recipe, but people for whom I have made these wonderful bars keep asking for more. In fact, our church is feeding the vollyball team at our local school tomorrow, and our pastor's wife specifically asked me to make them as a contribution. I hope anyone who tries this recipe will enjoy it.
In a fairly large mixing bowl, combine
4 cups Quaker Quick oats
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup melted butter
Mix these ingredients well with your hands, and them press the mixture into a greased jelly role pan or cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 12 minutes, then place the pan on a cake rack to cool.
Frost with
1 cup creamy peanutbutter, (I personally prefer Jiff)
1 cup milk chocolate chips
Place peanutbutter and chips in a microwavable bowl, and microwave 30 seconds at a time, stirring after each heating until the mixture is thoroughly melted.
Since I'm not very good at spreading things, I always ask someone to frost my bars. If anyone has any suggestions as to how I might perfect that skill, please feel free to comment.
I hope anyone who makes these will enjoy them, and I would love to hear about it!

I hope you'll try to make them. They're very simple to put together, and absolutely delicious! If you care about getting them cut into uniform pieces, I recommend using a pizza cutter. I usually don't do it myself, but I've suggested it to sighted family members who find it a good idea.
