Mark 16:17-18 (LSB) 17 And these signs will accompany those who have believed: in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues; 18 and they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
Jesus shared some very deep spiritual truths during His time here on earth.
But He also spoke very plainly on many occasions.
The verses above are from an occasion when He was speaking very plainly and directly to His disciples.
He had been crucified and resurrected. And He was now preparing to ascend to the Father.
As He spent the waning moments with them, He shared with them what to expect after He left. And He commanded them to go into all the world to share the gospel.
Not wanting them to feel fearful or improperly equipped, He told them that these specific signs would be given through those who believe.
What’s important to note here is that He was not selective about who to expect to see these signs carried out through.
It would take place through all believers.
We need to grasp the significance of this!
It was not reserved for those with a special anointing. It was not limited to those who held a specific office or position within the body of Christ.
It is for ALL BELIEVERS. All Believers!
So, the question we all need to ask is this. Why are we not seeing this happen in the lives of all believers? Why are we not seeing healings and deliverances on a regular basis?
What has happened to the body of Christ to cause the disappearance of miracles?
This is something worth pondering and seeking God for.
May the power of the Holy Spirit, and the miracles that accompany Him, return to the body of Christ in the name of Jesus Christ!
