Psalm 42:2 (LSB) 2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God; When shall I come and appear before God?
Sometimes our heart cries out for time spent in God’s presence.
Our spirit yearns and thirsts for Him.
It is a cry for the touch of God and the washing of His Spirit over us.
The busyness and the demands of life can sometimes keep us from this time if we aren’t careful.
Then one day we just can’t stay away any longer. And we force ourselves to stop what we are doing and get before Him!
These times of refreshing are a necessity. Our virility as a believer requires it.
And pushing it off for too long leaves us dry, weak, and unable to function properly as a kingdom warrior.
You see, despite us dwelling in a flesh-and-bone body, God created us to be spiritual beings.
He gave us a body, a soul, and a spirit. And our spirit longs for His presence and interaction in our lives.
And when we allow Him to touch us, it is like a fresh, clean start in our walk with Him; a touch of His splendor and glory upon us.
God, forgive us for pushing you away in our busyness. Please help us to put You first in everything. Remind us to stop what we’re doing and worship You. Help us shake off the chains of this world and run into Your presence. And wash us clean in Your presence. Amen
