Hidden No Longer
But when she could hide him no longer, she got a papyrus basket for him and coated it with tar and pitch. Then she placed the child in it and put it among the reeds along the bank of the Nile.
Exodus 2:3, NIV
When Moses was born, Pharaoh put out a decree that all the male Hebrew babies were to be killed. Moses’ mother hid him for three months. Nobody knew he was there. He wasn’t noticed or celebrated. He was hidden. Sometimes God will hide you. You will go through a season where you’re not being noticed, nobody is celebrating you. You have gifts and talents, but you’re being overlooked. These times when God hides you are times of testing, times of proving. Are you going to keep doing the right thing even though you’re being overlooked, nobody is giving you credit.
But the day came when Moses could no longer be hidden, and God caused him to be noticed by the most influential family of that time. When you pass the test of being faithful in the routine, there will come a time when you cannot be hidden any longer. God will cause the right people to see you. He’ll cause you to stand out. He’ll make sure you’re not only noticed but you’re celebrated. Stay encouraged. Doors are going to open that you couldn’t open.
Prayer For Today
“Father, thank You that You are working out Your plan for my life in Your best way, including seasons when You hide me away. Thank You that You are preparing me for the next thing You have for me. Help me to always be faithful to You and pass the test. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
