Proverbs 30:5-6 (LSB) 5 Every word of God is tested; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him. 6 Do not add to His words Lest He reprove you, and you be proved a liar.
God is mysterious in nature. It’s part of who He is.
His word contains untold numbers of mysteries.
Many of these mysteries are beyond human comprehension. And there are some things that we will never understand.
We have to be OK with that.
It’s not wrong to ask questions and seek answers. But we have to understand that some questions will never have answers.
If we could know and understand everything about God, we would not revere Him.
We cannot become obsessed with finding answers that don’t exist.
We can’t fabricate answers based on human intellect, trying to connect the dots, or by conjecture.
Doing so is flirting with or bordering on adding to or taking away from God’s word. And this can be very dangerous ground.
God has told us that it is impossible to please Him without faith.
Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV) 6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
Our relationship with Him is based completely on faith. We cannot have a relationship with Him outside of faith.
Human intellect will always question. Faith will trust even when we cannot see or fully understand things.
Because this is the nature of a faith-based relationship, it is OK if there are things we have no answers for.
We have to trust Him.
We have to take Him at His word.
Sometimes a mystery is meant to be just that; a mystery. And it behooves us to leave it as such.
Let us trust God. Walk and live by faith. It is what He asks of us. And we are wise to do what He asks.
Romans 11:33 (LSB) 33 Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways!
