Luke 6:38 (NKJV) 38 Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”
Give and it will be given. Not might, not maybe. But it will be given back to us.
I love that it is written in red, a promise from Jesus to us. If we do what God says, that is, and give!
Why is it so important that we give, because that is our seed of obedience that God can work with.
What we give will determine what will come back to us. It says here, for the same measure that we use will be measured back to us. It's up to us.
Now, does it mean how much financially? How much of our time, how much prayer, how much of our labor, or how much love we give, etc.?
All this matters to God. He sees our heart. What is most important is obeying God in our giving.
When we give something that God is asking for, and it is of great value to us, it does not go unnoticed with Him!
Four years ago, God called us to NC. We left all we knew; family, activities, friendships, our home; it’s all still there. But we are not.
He called us elsewhere. We are now living and growing in the state of NC.
We obeyed. And though we sacrificed much, today our hearts are full; God’s peace is with us. that is what matters most!
What is it today He is asking you to give?
Yes, it may be very personal to you, and of great sentimental or emotional value. But don’t hold back. Give and it will be measured back to you, pressed down, shaken together and running over!
