HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AMERICA
A thousand disagreements,
And I often have complained.
When I see where my taxes go,
My patience has been strained.
This weekend I've decided,
For this birthday celebration,
To focus on the blessings,
I have, living in this nation.
I'm still allowed to worship,
Undisturbed on my front pew.
I'm still allowed to disagree,
With what my leaders do.
When I go to a restaurant,
No matter what the day,
I'm never persecuted,
When I bow my head to pray.
These blessings, and so many more,
Are mine, right here, each day.
So Happy Birthday, America!
