Psalm 84:11 (NKJV) 11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield; The Lord will give grace and glory; No good thing will He withhold From those who walk uprightly.
God provides everything for those who walk uprightly in Him.
In Hebrew the word used for "good" is Tob. Tob means beneficial, functional, and intrinsically right.
This scripture stating that no good thing will He withhold from us doesn’t mean that God will give us whatever material things we want. But He will not withhold what is good, or Tob, for our spiritual well-being.
This is an awesome truth, and it should help us to understand how much He cares about our walk and relationship with Him; that He will not withhold the things we need, and this will help keep us close to Him and in His presence.
What are some of the things that He is talking about?
He is a sun to us; life-giving light and warmth. He is a shield; ultimate safety and protection. And He will give us grace and glory!
Hallelujah, praise to our God!
Let us focus on walking uprightly today, with His help. We will go from strength to strength as He continues to withhold no good thing from us.
