1 Peter 4:19 (NLT) 19 So if you are suffering in a manner that pleases God, keep on doing what is right, and trust your lives to the God who created you, for he will never fail you.
"Trust your lives to the God who created you, for he will never fail you."
As Peter penned these words, he wanted the readers of his letter to know and understand that God is trustworthy.
He is trustworthy beyond the salvation of our souls.
He is trustworthy in everything we walk out each day.
He is trustworthy in the trials we face.
He is trustworthy in ways that we may not even comprehend.
This is important for us to understand. And if we grasped it more firmly, fear of any kind would have no grip on us. Nor would it have any power in our lives.
Peter was speaking directly to people who were facing trials and persecution for their faith.
But look closely at what he told them.
He didn't share ways to avoid their persecution!
He said that if they were suffering in a manner that pleases God, keep on doing what is right.
That is absolute trust being expressed by someone who had walked through terrible persecution in his own life. And yet, instead of steering them away from it, he encouraged them to endure and continue doing what is right.
God is worthy of our trust.
He wants only what is best for us. And though we may not always understand why we face the things we do, we can rest in knowing that He will never fail us.
That thing you're facing right now that has you terrified? Trust Him with it.
So, as the enemy whispers in your ear, planting seeds of doubt and confusion, listen only to the voice of God. And let Him bring you peace that surpasses understanding 🙏🏻
